Beloved Birdies

Another kind press mention: my citrus bird cards were featured in the What's Hot for Tots Holiday Gift Guide. As with two other lovely holiday gift guide pieces I was honored to be included in this season, the WHFT guide is advertorial-free.

Navy/Gray Dot Monogram

Again, per my love of client requests, I just included a new color combination for the popular dot monogram collection, following an inquiry about making available navy and gray to match a mom's nursery scheme. This color combo also would be good for "man stationery" (which my husband suggested I design more of).

The dot monograms are one of my most popular designs, particularly for use on stationery and calling cards. And of course it could be applied to invites or announcements as well.

Stationery for the Cruise/Holmes Family

This month I had the opportunity to gift the Cruise/Holmes family and decided to introduce them to some fitting imagery from my stationery collection. I remembered reading somewhere that Suri digs cupcakes (although I guess, what kid doesn't?!) and Katie Holmes has the pretty, classic thing going with her and her daughter's clothing so I created stationery for Suri using the cupcake and green/blue scallop designs.

I also included a set of family stationery from Tom, Katie, Bella, Connor & Suri, set on the orange dot monogram design.

Posh Peacock at Skimbaco

I'm thrilled to report that Posh Peacock is now among Skimbaco's lovely collection of cool products for modern parents and kids! Luxe Custom Business Mailers

One of my favorite custom clients is one of my close girlfriends, Honey Jo. I have done a number of custom projects for her, and she always trusts my vision. Late in November we paired up again, to create luxe custom business mailers that served to notify her client base of her major business move (relocating her hair cut and color business after a long stint on Newbury Street in Boston).

Pocket folios are great for multiple piece mailers, and we used one here and inserted in it a double layered client letter (cream colored letter paper mounted on chocolate card stock) and map/first visit discount coupon. I used a lovely wide chocolate satin ribbon band around the flap and finished the front with a circle sticker (one of my favorite finishing pieces these days), with her motto ("everyone can be beautiful") and website URL on it.

"August Rush" Premiere Notecards

Now that the holiday rush is officially over, I have a moment to report on a different rush -- a fun custom celeb project I did in November, for the Nashville premiere of "August Rush." A friend/colleague contacted me about putting together product for the event goodie bags, and it was one of those good mojo design projects where I was struck by an immediate vision of what I wanted the cards to be, and they came off perfectly.

Here's what I wanted: 1) New York imagery other than the overused skyline motif; 2) a recognizable - but not trite - musical element; and 3) a little bit of paper glam, given that it was a celebrity event. The Statue of Liberty clutching guitar notecards with silver glitter wrap fit the bill perfectly. And I'm grateful the good mojo was running because I only had about 36 hours start to finish to design and produce the project!
